Tongwei Solar receives two certifications against SSI ESG & SCT Standards

Tongwei's Nantong production base has been certified against SSI ESG & SCT Standards — achieving a Silver rating under the SSI ESG Standard and a Bronze rating under the SSI SCT Standard. The two certifications underline the strength of the site’s management in sustainable operations and responsible supply chain.

As one of the Group’s flagship demonstration facilities for putting sustainability into practice, the Nantong production site met the requirements of both standards from two dimensions:

At operational level, the site was assessed across environmental performance, labour management, sustainable procurement, and corporate governance. On supply chain management, the site runs its own end-to-end traceability system. This tracks materials at every key stage of production. It turns responsible sourcing into everyday practice and gives downstream partners greater confidence in the integrity of supply chain.

A systematic due diligence system

These results build on a broader framework that Tongwei has developed over recent years. In line with due diligence requirements such as the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, the Company has progressively integrated end-to-end due diligence procedures into its sustainable development management, establishing a systematic, multi-dimensional audit system. Through a combination of periodic audits, as well third-party assessments, Tongwei works to identify, prevent, and mitigate potential risks — both within its own operations and across the supply chain — spanning environmental, labour, and corporate governance dimensions.

Within its own management system, the site takes the same approach — identifying, preventing, and mitigating risks across environmental, labour, and corporate governance areas. This gives it a systematic, wide-ranging, closed-loop framework, and a sound basis for long-term management.

When it comes to supply chain, this framework is grounded in a clear set of policies, including the Supplier Code of Conduct, and the Conflict Minerals Commitment and Policy, informed by international instruments such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance. ESG considerations are incorporated into new supplier screening, and qualified suppliers are subject to ESG self-assessments and on-site audits if necessary.

Where performance falls short of expectations, Tongwei issues rectification recommendations and provides ongoing supervision, and plans to promote self-assessments by key conflict-mineral suppliers in accordance with Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) requirements. Supplier ESG performance is tracked over time, with cross-verification planned using tools such as the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT), alongside accessible grievance and reporting channels. Beyond oversight, the Company invests in capability-building through a supply chain partner empowerment programme and regular supplier ESG training.

Rather than managing supply chain risk in one direction, the site runs regular ESG training and a partner empowerment programme at the same time. So its management system balances risk control with working together to raise standards across the supply chain— a considered approach to supply chain governance that is both rigorous and supportive.

Looking ahead

Tongwei will continue to strengthen supply chain due diligence, expand traceability coverage, and pursue higher ratings in future audit cycles — reflecting the SSI's role in developing credible, auditable frameworks that enable traceability to be implemented in practice and scaled across the sector, and Tongwei's own commitment to responsible, transparent growth.
