Intersolar Europe 2025 Kicks Off in Munich — Tongwei Unveils the All-Scenario TNC 2.0 Product Lineup, Driving “Efficiency Evolution”
On May 7 (local time), Intersolar Europe 2025 officially opened in Munich, Germany. Tongwei made a powerful appearance with its next-generation TNC 2.0 all-scenario module portfolio, leveraging technological innovation and intelligent manufacturing to fully kick off an “Efficiency Evolution.”
Highlights from Day 1 at Intersolar Europe 2025
TNC 2.0: A Powerful Global Debut
On the first day of the exhibition, the global launch of the TNC 2.0 product series – Munich Station took place. Ms. Liu Shuqi, Chairwoman and CEO of Tongwei Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech at the launch ceremony. Dr. Xing Guoqiang, Chief Technology Officer of PV at Tongwei, introduced the TNC 2.0 technology in detail, showcasing its technical strengths and customer value. Other Tongwei executives including Ms. Feng Chang (Chief Administrative Officer of Tongwei), Mr. Qiu Xin (General Manager of Module Sales, PV Business Division), Mr. Fan Hua (VP of Supply Chain), and Mr. Xue Qingsong (Deputy General Manager of Module Sales, PV Business Division) also attended the event and witnessed the next phase of Tongwei’s product evolution.
Chairwoman Liu delivering her speech
In her speech, Ms. Liu stated:“Tongwei firmly believes that clean energy should be accessible to everyone, everywhere. True technological innovation must support the harmony between society and nature. Every Tongwei module is not just a product of science, but a core element of a sustainable energy system—turning sunlight into stable green power for decades to come.”
Rooted in this vision, Tongwei introduced the new-generation TNC 2.0 modules, built on the principles of high efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. These modules are designed to perform exceptionally across diverse application scenarios. Their value lies not only in reducing LCOE, but also in enabling energy.
Dr. Xing Guoqiang: Four Breakthrough Technologies Power TNC 2.0
In his technical presentation, Dr. Xing emphasized that the TNC 2.0 series achieves a comprehensive performance upgrade by integrating four core innovations:
Tongwei’s proprietary 0BB “908” technology
TPE edge passivation
Poly Tech passivation pattern
Steel mesh printing
Key Technical Advancements:
0BB Technology: By replacing traditional soldering pads with silicone glue for cell interconnection, the shading area is reduced, internal stress is minimized, and the risk of microcracks drops by 30%, improving overall reliability.
Laser Edge Passivation: Carefully selected passivation materials repair the laser-cut edges of the cells, significantly enhancing performance.
Steel Mesh Printing: A specially designed steel plate replaces traditional mesh screens, achieving 100% opening rate and reducing shading area by 3.3%, which increases current collection.
Poly Layer Optimization: The Poly layer is removed only in non-contact zones, reducing optical loss and improving power output and bifaciality.
TNC 2.0 modules maximize Tongwei’s manufacturing and efficiency advantages. They provide full-scenario coverage, significantly boost power output, reduce CAPEX and LCOE, and deliver solid value to customers.
The TWMNH-66HD (G12R-66) reduces CAPEX by 1.20% and LCOE by 1.28% compared to standard modules.
The TWMNF-66HD (G12-66) achieves 1.26% CAPEX and 1.31% LCOE reductions.
Additionally, TNC bifacial modules have achieved a bifaciality rate of 88%+ (certified by TÜV Rheinland and CTC), which is 5–10% higher than conventional modules.
TÜV Rheinland Certification: Strong Recognition for Environmental Leadership
During Intersolar, Mr. Li Weichun, Vice President of Global Power Electronics Services at TÜV Rheinland Group, awarded Tongwei the IEC TS 62994:2019 Full Lifecycle Environmental Certification and MCS Certification. Dr. Xing received the certificates on behalf of the company.
IEC TS 62994:2019 covers environmental, health, and safety risk assessments across the full lifecycle of PV products—from raw material sourcing to production, installation, recycling, and disposal.
The MCS Certification highlights the high market recognition of Tongwei’s product quality.
Mr. Li commented that the TNC 2.0 series demonstrates exceptional performance and quality, affirming Tongwei’s ongoing leadership and innovation in high-performance PV modules.
“Top Performer” Recognition from KIWA-PVEL
Thanks to its outstanding module performance, Tongwei was named a Top Performer PV Module Manufacturer for 2025 by KIWA-PVEL. The award was presented by Mr. Tristan Erion-Lorico, VP of Sales and Marketing at KIWA-PVEL, and received by Mr. Qiu Xin on behalf of Tongwei.
Mr. Qiu stated:“Being recognized as a Top Performer is a strong endorsement of Tongwei’s long-term reliability and our continuous pursuit of excellence. We’ll keep pushing the boundaries of technology to deliver even more efficient and dependable clean energy solutions worldwide.”
Strategic Global Partnerships: New Milestones
During the event, Tongwei signed a 2025 Strategic Cooperation Agreement with BayWa r.e. Solar Trade Holding GmbH, a leading European energy service provider. The agreement was signed by Mr. Alexander Schütt, CSO of BayWa r.e., and Mr. Chen Fangzhou, Overseas Sales Director of Tongwei’s PV Business Module Division.
