2025 Global Debut! Tongwei Makes Its Mark in Abu Dhabi, Starting a New Chapter of Global Expansion
As a pivotal hub for the Middle East’s energy transition, Abu Dhabi is not only a hotspot for PV market competition but also a strategic gateway for Tongwei’s global expansion. From January 14-16, 2025, Tongwei launched its global market journey in Abu Dhabi, showcasing its TNC-G12/G12R and THC-G12 modules at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Tongwei in the global PV market.
The Potential and Challenges of the Middle East Market
The Middle East is blessed with abundant solar resources and a rapidly growing demand for energy, with Saudi Arabia dominating the region. According to IHS data for 2024, Saudi Arabia accounts for around 51% of the PV installations in the Middle East. As solar PV projects continue to thrive in the region, it is expected that by 2025, the Middle East will see an additional 12.7-15.7 GW of solar capacity installed.
However, the region’s extreme climate conditions—such as high radiation and wide temperature fluctuations—demand PV modules with superior durability and long-term stability. Leveraging its strong R&D capabilities and technical expertise, Tongwei offers tailored solutions to meet the region’s unique needs, providing robust technical support for the Middle East market.
Driving Stability and Efficiency through Technological Innovation
During the exhibition, Tongwei shared its product development journey and key advantages in PV module technology. Tongwei’s high-efficiency modules continue to break through technological bottlenecks, passing rigorous testing and certification to ensure stable and efficient performance across various complex application scenarios.
To address the high radiation and extreme temperature differences typical of the Middle East, the Tongwei TNC-G12/G12R series modules underwent UV300 and UV120 testing, demonstrating excellent ultraviolet resistance. Meanwhile, the THC-G12 series modules passed the TC 400 test, showcasing exceptional stability under extreme temperature conditions.
Promoting Sustainable Development
At the event, Tongwei also held an ESG presentation themed "New Pathways to Sustainability," where the company shared its approach to driving energy transition through green manufacturing and the widespread adoption of renewable energy. In the journey toward carbon neutrality, Tongwei emphasizes that companies must not only achieve technological innovation but also contribute to the sustainable development of the global energy structure.
Excellence in Certification and Professional Recognition
At the exhibition, TÜV Rheinland awarded Tongwei the Bankability & Traceability Certificates. Tongwei became the first company to pass TÜV Rheinland’s audit and receive an AA-level rating across the entire PV supply chain, including modules, silicon wafers, ingot pulling, and silicon materials. This certification not only acknowledges Tongwei's supply chain security and transparency but also symbolizes the company's efforts in building a low-carbon, safe, and sustainable supply chain system.
