1. On Apr 3, 2023, Chairman Liu Hanyuan and Chairman Liu Shuqi inspected the Shuangliu Base and gave important instructions on the construction of the R&D center.

2. On Nov 30, 2023, Tongwei launched the construction of its first global innovation R&D center.

3. On Apr 26, 2024, the first batch of process equipment of Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center successfully entered the site.

4. From May to June 2024, T1-T4 workshops were put into R&D successively.

5. On Jun 6, 2024, the first HJT+THL cell rolled off the production line in the T6 workshop of Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center, marking the official completion and commissioning of the center.

6. On Nov 18, 2024, Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center made a grand debut at the 7th China International PV and Energy Storage Industry Conference (CIPESIC 2024).

Research directions include high-efficiency crystalline silicon cells and materials, high-efficiency and high-reliability modules, photovoltaic testing and analysis, new technologies, etc., with a particular focus on the development of core technologies and cutting-edge technologies in the fields of TNC, THC, TBC cells and modules, copper interconnection metallization, perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells, new photovoltaic modules, etc. Furthermore, the Global Innovation R&D Center is committed to the analysis and characterization of materials and devices, reliability testing and evaluation of module products, etc.

An integrated HJT copper interconnection and perovskite cell workshop with the largest workshop area, the highest pilot production capacity, and the strongest upgradability, suitable for the R&D of new technologies in the next 5 to 10 years.
PV testing center
A PV testing center with the world’s largest standalone area, most advanced technologies and most inclusive testing capabilities of PV cell, module materials and products, covering cell testing lab, materials physics and chemistry lab, and module reliability lab, competent in standard testing, rigorous testing, failure analysis, accelerated development, analog computing, etc.
High-efficiency Cells and Modules
The main R&D base of Tongwei‘s PV technology center is Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center. It’s located in Chengdu of Sichuan Province and has branches in cities including Hefei of Anhui Province. Currently, Tongwei has made important breakthroughs in mainstream technology fields such as TOPCon, HJT, BC, and perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells.

Yongxiang Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tongwei Co., Ltd., has three provincial-level R&D platforms: Sichuan Provincial Polysilicon Engineering Technology Research Center, Sichuan Provincial High-Purity Crystalline Silicon Preparation Technology Engineering Lab, and Tongwei Semiconductor R&D Center.

Yongxiang Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tongwei, has established a polysilicon engineering technology research center, an enterprise technology center, a high-purity crystalline silicon preparation engineering lab, and a postdoctoral innovative practice base. By the end of May 2024, Yongxiang had applied for 952 patents and had 644 valid patents.
